Adding to KHUM's commitment to diversity, we produce several live local specialty shows. This allows us to go in depth with several musical genres. One requirement in hosting a KHUM specialty show is that one must be passionate about the type of music featured on the show. Another is that the hosts be inclusive. It is easy to do a show for diehards of any musical genre.

KHUM feels it is important to allow everyone to the party, whether one is knowledgeable about the music or not. Our hosts act as musical tour guides through a rich musical journey. Everyone is welcome.

Finally, our shows are local. There are lots of syndicated music programs out in radio land. While they may be professional and polished, they are not for us. A cornerstone of KHUM's programming philosophy is local, local, local!
