Trinidad Pier Beach Walk

Explore low tide at the Trinidad Pier beach with this slow-paced, easy-access walk led by Humboldt State University emeritus zoology Professor John DeMartini on Sunday, Aug. 12, from 8 to 9:30 a.m. The beach next to the Trinidad Pier is fairly easy to explore, and a beach wheelchair will be available. This beach and the rocks below the pier are full of both Trinidad history and thriving intertidal sea life, from sea urchins and anemones to crabs and the occasional visiting river otter and sea birds. Professor DeMartini, an intertidal expert, will be on hand to help identify and discuss sea life. Meet at the Trinidad Pier. This beach walk is co-sponsored by the Trinidad Coastal Land Trust and the Friends of the Dunes. RSVP required. Call 677-2501 to reserve a spot or the beach wheelchair, or email carol@trinidadcoastallandtrust.org.
