The Handshakers
Saturday June 9th, 7:30 p.m. Westhaven Center for the Arts presents The Handshakers. The heart of this Americana/alt-country music band beats with two gifted Georgia-born songwriters: Mike Bynum/ rhythm guitar and Michael Walker/ electric guitar. Complemented by Aleister Paige’s atmospheric pedal steel guitar and the steady subtle grooves of electric bassist Gary Davidson and drummer Paul DeMark, Walker’s and Bynum’s sometimes gritty, soaring vocals and harmonies pour through memorable lyrics with a cinematic feel- about the longing for the return of mojo and the world they left behind – songs of family and rural life, as well as darker subjects like marital betrayal and revenge murder.
