School of Self-Care Summer Solstice Reboot
What is the best form of health-care… ? Self Care. If you don’t take care of yourself, there are no doctors nor medicines that can help you. Unfortunately, self-care isn’t taught in our public schools, and not in many families. You want to live your best life, and it’s up to you to seek and discover how to care for yourself so you can live that life. When you make this discovery, everyone wins: you win, your loved ones win, the world wins. I started the School of Self-Care to spread the tools needed for anyone to experience greater mental, physical, and emotional health every day. Join us on June 10th for a “Summer Solstice Reboot:” a time to practice new self-care techniques, to connect to others on a path of radical self-care, and then to leave with a specific plan for enhancing your own practice. We will gather from 4pm to 6pm and we will explore four different categories of self-care: Savoring Expressing Moving Soothing Come in comfortable clothing and be prepared to drop some stress and gain some skills. Ages 12 and up are welcome. An alternative date and time for the workshop will be at Humboldt Herbals in Eureka on June 16th from 10am-noon. Call (805) 664-0404 to register for that session. Andrea’s path has included clinical work in a distressed public mental health system and, later, her own personal disability. She was able to move through both of these years-long challenges because of her bombproof self-care skills and commitment to using them- come what may.
