Michael Stephenson Jazz Ensemble
Join us for another fun night on the patio with Pizza Gago and a top notch ensemble of musicians! The Stephenson Jazz Ensemble Feat. Talvola, Aber, Gaon, and Thatcher. This all-star group is made up of Humboldt’s finest musicians and consists of members of Timbata, The Earl Thomas Band, Motherlode, and The Opera Alley Cats. These terrific musicians have come together to play highly-improvisatory and unique versions of classic jazz standards. The group includes Dominic Talvola, who performs jazz regularly in such far away places as Spain and Japan, on trumpet; Aber Miller, The North Coast Journals’s “Best Musician” in Humboldt of 2017 who co-founded Scuber Mountain and regularly backs up Earl Thomas, on keyboard; Danny Gaon, who has performed with the Alley Cats, the Ghost Trio, and the Small Axe Ensemble, on upright bass; Thatcher Holvick-Norton, of the Earl Thomas Band, Love Bush, and Farmhouse Odyssey on drums, and Michael Stephenson, musical director/keyboardist/guitarist of Timbata, The Karmanauts, Secret Club, and the Rachel Beccaria band on electric guitar. All ages welcome.
