Our Waste Revealed: Recology Open House

You are invited to join the City of Eureka and Recology Humboldt County to learn about our community’s waste at a Recology Open House on November 10th from 9am-11am. The City of Eureka is in the process of developing a Zero Waste Action Plan and this event will serve as an educational and public input opportunity. A once in a lifetime chance: You get to join Eureka City Councilmembers to work the recycling line and firsthand experience our communities waste. You will not only get an in-depth understanding of how recycling works, you will also see what doesn’t work! We will also be offering guided tours of the facility. There will also be presentations by Recology, City of Eureka, and Zero Waste Humboldt on local waste related topics including the City’s Zero Waste Action Plan process. This includes opportunity to provide input on the City’s Zero Waste Action Plan and staff will be available for questions. This is family friendly and free to the public. We will also be offering a free pancake breakfast and zero waste activities. You won’t want to miss this! Questions? Call 707-441-4206. What is Zero Waste? Zero waste is a goal to send nothing to the landfill by refusing, reducing, reusing, and recycling. Let’s work together to transform Eureka into a Zero Waste community. Innovative approaches to reducing waste can become a point of pride for Eureka. We can take the lead to creating a more sustainable community and planet.
