Opening Reception

On Sunday afternoon, April 8, the Blue Lake Museum will host its annual reopening from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Humboldt residents and incoming visitors are all encouraged to attend. The event is free and there are many new displays for guests to enjoy. As always, the museum houses many historical artifacts pertaining to logging, railroading, and living in the Redwood Country. The museum’s collection is housed within the former Arcata & Mad River Railroad depot at Railroad and G Streets. What better way to spend a Sunday than to check out the museum and to explore the beautiful town of Blue Lake! The Blue Lake Museum also features the Ruth Everding Libbey collection of Native American basketry, the Korbel and Northern Redwood Lumber Company room, and extensive research resources. The Railroad, the oldest on the north coast, is a registered California State Historic Landmark. The museum is maintained and staffed by volunteers and is funded solely by memberships, donations, and fundraisers. The address for the museum is 330, Railroad Ave, Blue Lake, CA 95525.
