North Coast Mensa Forum
Columnist and writer Tim Martin will speak on “Being a Newspaper Columnist” at the Northcoast Mensa Forum at noon Saturday (April 28) at the Samoa Cookhouse. Martin’s column, Here’s a Thought, appears Sundays in the Humboldt Times-Standard. He graduated from Humboldt State University with a degree in philosophy and is a Vietnam War veteran. He has six published books, nine screen plays, three of which have been optioned, and has contributed to more than two dozen Chicken Soup for the Soul books. He believes the most effective way to express concerns is through satire. He is a native of Humboldt County and lives in Fortuna. There will be time for questions after his presentation. The forum is open to the public. Lunch is no-host, and admission is free.
