Music in the Garden with The Handshakers
We are excited to welcome The Handshakers to the Garden as we continue our summer concert series on June 17th. The heart of The Handshakers beats with two gifted, Georgia-born songwriters, Mike Bynum and Michael Walker. They write about the southern world they left behind. The Handshakers’ Americana/alt-country music revolves around the sound of Walker’s sultry electric guitar, Bynum’s driving acoustic rhythm guitar and Aleister Paige’s atmospheric pedal steel guitar. And then there’s Walker’s and Bynum’s soaring– and sometimes gritty – vocals and harmonies. The simple, elegant melodies played by Walker, Bynum and Paige are complemented by the steady, subtle grooves of electric bassist Gary Davidson and drummer Paul DeMark. This activity is FREE to HBG members, admission is $8 for non-members adults or $5 for seniors, students, active military & children over 6, children under 6 are free.
