The Ukrainian-born Aussie has been first-prize winner in twelve international competitions, was three-time finalist in the GFA International Concert Artist Competition, and winner of three special prizes at the 2004 Havana International Guitar Competition in Cuba. His first-prize win at the 2006 Tokyo International Guitar Competition was followed by an extensive Japan-wide tour. Don't miss this superb evening of world-class music. $10 General, $5 Senior/Child, $5 for HSU students with ID. “Apart from immaculate technique, Tsiboulski displayed a rare ability to engage with the emotional dimension of the music, imbuing it, when required, with passion, humour and sensuality. In a scene full of talented young players, Tsiboulski stands out.” (The Advertiser, Adelaide, 2007) "deeply engrossed in the romantic strains of the music, he played with a sensuous intensity" (Classical Guitar Magazine, UK, December 2001) "a daredevil technician" (Classical Guitar Magazine, UK, 2002) A student of Timothy Kain in Australia and Adam Holzman in Austin, Tsiboulski is a musician who pursues projects in uncommon depth, testing and developing his work with some of the leading musicians of our time. He studied Bach's works with legendary bassist Edgar Meyer and flautist Patrick Gallois - this inspired his upcoming release of Bach Cello Suite arrangements. His decade-long study of Manuel Ponce's music, culminating in the 2014 recording of Ponce's Sonatas for Naxos, took him to the Ponce Archives in Mexico City and to musicologists around the world. Meanwhile, his Naxos CD of Australian Guitar Music (2010), nominated for an ARIA award in the category of Best Classical Album, reflects a fifteen-year personal engagement with the music and composers represented on that disc. Tsiboulski has wide teaching experience: assistanceships at Indiana Unviersity and Universiy of Texas at Austin have been followed by lecturing periods at the Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne and the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, as well as master-classes and competition adjudication engagements in Australia, USA and Latin America. Tsiboulski is presently based in Adelaide, Australia, where he maintains a busy playing and teaching schedule.
