Grave Matters and Untimely Departures
This historical/theatrical event is a 50-minute walking tour through historic Sunrise Cemetery, with costumed actors portraying some of the famous, infamous and tragic "residents" of the cemetery. "Grave Matters" is a fund-raiser for the Fortuna Cemetery District. Come to Newburg Park (off Newburg Road) to purchase tickets and ride the shuttle bus to the cemetery, where a tour guide will lead you to the graves of the eight departed (and returned) spirits you will be meeting. The first tour begins at 2:00 and the final tour of the day, the "flashlight tour," begins at 6:00. Tours leave every ten minutes.
