Get A Job in the Trades, a Panel for High School Students and Their Parents
From 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. on Monday February 5 in the McKinleyville High School library, College of the Redwoods Professors Mike Peterson, Manufacturing Technology, Hillary Reed, Dental Assisting, and Montel Vanderhorck, Digital Medial will present about the training programs and opportunities available in Career Technical Education (CTE) at CR. CTE includes short-duration skills development classes, certificates of achievement to show mastery in a specific area, and two-year Associate Degree programs. Some of CR CTE programs include training in Agriculture, Automotive Technology, Construction, Computer Information Systems, Drafting, and Welding. In addition to the CR instructors, Kathy Rodriguez from the Humboldt Builders Exchange will participate on the panel to share job opportunities available to students in the construction industry.
