Gallery Show of Peggy Ho’s Art Work

Peggy Ho, a local Humboldt County artist, will host a reception for her art show entitled “A Ten Year Retrospective of Studies and Originals.” The free reception will include a live piano performance by special guest Elizabeth MacDougall from Mendocino College, as well as hors d'oeuvres, wine and non-alcoholic drinks. Originally from Berkeley and Hawaii, Ms. Ho studied studio art at the University of Hawaii-Manoa. She is pleased to share her drawings and paintings (oil, water color, and acrylic) which are inspired by nature and Georgia O'Keeffe. In Peggy’s words, “O’Keeffe’s art affects me deeply because her work is large and bold. O’Keeffe was not afraid to express herself in a genuine and unique way. The natural world, especially landscapes, flowers and plants, also figure deeply in my work. My studies have been a wonderful tool to help me learn how great artists make their art. I believe that many of my studies are also works of art that have been inspired by or influenced by other artists.” The exhibit will be in place at the Fellowship from June 11 – July 31. Those who wish to see the show prior to or after the June 24 reception may do so shortly before any of the Sunday services, which begin at 10 a.m., or after the end of any service around noon. Please contact Peggy Ho at 510-551-4924 if interested in purchasing a painting or print.
