ENC/HBAC Lecture Series
Explore North Coast and the Humboldt Bay Aquatic Center as co-sponsors invites the public to their Lecture Series featuring Kurt Roblek from the Humboldt Bay National Wildlife Refuge. Kurt will present on the rich conservation history of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's National Wildlife Refuge System and more specifically, Humboldt Bay National Wildlife Refuge's role in conservation around the Bay. As a federal agency tasked with managing lands for fish and wildlife resources, there are many exciting activities to learn about and explore the next time you visit Your National Wildlife Refuge. The lecture is scheduled for Monday January 8th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Humboldt Bay Aquatic Center, 921, Waterfront Drive, Eureka. Admission is free. Kurt has worked in the field of wildlife conservation for over 20 years. He is originally from Wisconsin with degrees in the fields of botany and ecology. His career started in 1995 with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources as an aquatic ecologist. Seeking warmer weather and surfing he moved to San Diego in 2001 and began his career with U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. For 15 years he has held roles in Endangered Species Act administration and endangered species management at Tijuana Slough and San Diego Bay National Wildlife Refuges. For the last year he has been the Deputy Refuge Manager at Humboldt Bay National Wildlife Refuge.
