Clean-up Day at the Educational Wetland
McKinleyville Land Trust Dow's Prairie Educational Wetland outdoor classroom cleanup day at the McKinleyville Land Trust Dow's Prairie Educational Wetland (MLTDPEW)! We're getting the outdoor classroom in shape! Come on out and join us in this community wide Volunteer Day project in the name of outdoor education for the Dow's Prairie School kids! Location: McKinleyville Land Trust Dow's Prairie Educational Wetland is located off Grange Road in McKinleyville behind Dow's Prairie School. Projects include: -bagging up mulch -weeding the bench area -clipping scotchbroom (instead of pulling) in a sensitive habitat area B.Y.O.T.- Bring your own: Gloves, tools (clippers, branch hand saws, hand shovels), and water bottle. The McKinleyville Land Trust Dow's Prairie Educational Wetland is part of the US Fish and Wildlife Service Schoolyard Habitat Program. This land is not public access, but used as an outdoor classroom by the adjacent elementary school.
