BODY DOUBLE is the latest project from Oakland-based singer-songwriter Candace Lazarou. Though akin to the heaving, gnashing no-wave of her former band MANSION, Body Double is Lazarou's venture into zipped-up post-punk, dour new wave and expansive psych dirges. She's joined by a 4-piece band. Shot through with references to BRIAN ENO's maniacal sonic strategies, guitar tones in the vein of WIRE's 154 era, and PJ HARVEY at her most vengeful.
With support from HILLSHADE and CHINI. Bar opens at 6 pm, show at 9 pm. $10 - $15 sliding scale.
