Beginning River Kayaking on the Mad River
April 22 (Mandatory Pool) • April 29 (River). This beginners class will gently open the door to the wonderful world of river kayaking. Students will start at the Arcata Community Pool and progress to moving water on the Mad River. The focus will be on boating safety, introduction to equipment, proper technique, paddling strokes, control, and building confidence. A combination of inflatable kayaks and hardshell kayaks will be used depending on the individual needs and skill progression. For more information, call Center Activities, 707-826-3357.
