17th Annual Klamath River Clean Up

Klamath, CA– The Klamath River is California’s second largest river and needs your help! Come help the Yurok Tribe Environmental Program and the Watershed Stewards Program on Saturday, April 28, 2018 from 9:00am to 2:00 pm for the 17th annual Klamath River Clean Up! Volunteers will come together as a community to remove litter and invasive plants from the banks of the beautiful river. This will benefit anadromous fish, their habitat, and the Klamath watershed. There will be a t-shirt give away, morning snacks, water, salmon lunch, and raffle at the Yurok Tribe Main Office.

This legacy event has historically drawn over 200 participants. Volunteers will meet and park at the Yurok Tribe Main Office at 9:00am for registration: 190 Klamath Blvd. Klamath, CA 95548. Work gloves, tools, and water will be provided. This event will be occurring up river in Weitchpec and down river in Klamath. The mission of the Watershed Stewards Program (WSP) is to conserve, restore, and enhance anadromous watersheds for future generations by linking education with high-quality scientific practices. A program of the California Conservation Corps, WSP is one of the most productive programs for future employment in natural resources. WSP is administered by CaliforniaVolunteers and sponsored by the Corporation for National and Community Service.
